PAROA SCHOOL HEALTH EXPO 2009

Thursday 26th November 2009 saw the Social Workers in Schools (SWIS) team work with Te Kura o Te Paroa to host a Health Expo.  It was a very successful day with both the Principal and staff happy to see the children involved and participating in activities to promote and educate everyone about health. 

It was a great surprise to see Kaumatua from the Kaumatua Programme come to support the school on their trip out.  There were many games and even a competition to complete an informative poster relating to Quit Smoking.  The A&D message was also talked about with the use of kina.... yes KINA! 

Kai was wonderfully prepared by the team leader, Banj of SWIS and everyone enjoyed themselves on the day.  Be sure to watch for future events within the schools in 2010.
